Claire Morris
Senior Associate

M. Phys (Hons) (Oxon), Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney.

Claire studied at Oxford University (Brasenose College), graduating in 2001 with a first class degree in Physics. Whilst at university, she specialised in Medical Physics, Physics of the Atmospheres and Oceans, and Astrophysics. Her degree included a three month project designing and constructing an optical instrument to analyse human colour vision response. Prior to her degree, Claire spent a year working in a research and development department of a leading manufacturer of industrial printing equipment.

Claire qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in 2005. She deals with a wide range of technology in the mechanical, electrical, electronic and optics fields and has considerable experience in the fields of defence, medical devices and automotive electro-mechanical components.

Her practice is mostly concerned with the drafting and prosecution of patent applications before the UK and European Patent Offices, and the handling of post-grant opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office. She has represented her clients' interests successfully in inter-partes hearings before the European Patent Office and has experience in advising clients on more general IP issues including design rights, and infringement and enforcement of patents and designs.
