Susan Thomas

Susan handles mainly chemical subject-matter, including pharmaceuticals, food chemistry, personal care compositions and catalyst systems. She is experienced in drafting patent applications and in prosecuting patent applications before the European Patent Office and other patent offices round the world. She also handles opposition work before the European Patent Office.

Susan joined the firm in 1997, having previously worked as a patent attorney in the Patent Department of Unilever PLC handling and co-ordinating world-wide patent portfolios in the fields of edible oil processing and personal care products. She thus has considerable experience of working in a corporate environment and of the commercial aspects of patent work.

Susan graduated from Oxford University (St. Anne’s College) in 1975 with a First class degree in Chemistry. She was awarded an Exhibition by her college and received the university research prize for her final-year dissertation.

Susan enjoys walking and spending time with her family.
