David Holland
Associate
MA (Cantab), MSci (Natural Sciences), Chartered Patent Attorney.
David joined the firm in 2006, having graduated with first class degrees from Selwyn College, Cambridge. He took full advantage of the breadth of the Natural Sciences course by studying biochemistry, pharmacology and physiology before deciding to focus on organic and biological chemistry during his final two years.
David currently prosecutes a wide range of subject-matter at the European Patent Office, specialising in the interface between biotechnology and chemistry. He has particular experience in prosecuting patent applications concerning a broad range of pharmaceutical products, including inventions based upon new chemical entities, combinations of compounds and dosage regimens.
In addition, David also has experience of prosecuting applications for new biological targets and antisense based therapies. David coordinates a number of worldwide patent portfolios and has recently become involved in SPC prosecution for applications across Europe.
David enjoys cycling, classical music and overseas travel.
