Christopher Hoggett
Trainee
MChem. (Hon.)
Chris joined the firm as a trainee patent attorney in 2008. He graduated with a first-class MChem degree from the University of Durham, where he focussed particularly on organic and biological chemistry. As part of his degree, Chris spent a year on an Erasmus exchange in Prof. Dr. Frank Würthner’s laboratory at the University of Würzburg, Germany, where he specialised in supramolecular organic chemistry. He was awarded the BP prize by the University of Durham for his Master’s work on trimeric cyclic assemblies of calix[4]arene-tethered bismerocyanine dyes.
Chris is a keen musician, and holds a Guildhall Diploma in ‘cello performance. He plays in a number of orchestras and chamber ensembles in and around London. He enjoys travelling, and has participated in expeditions to South America, China, Norway, Iceland and Morocco, and to keep fit he enjoys running, squash and skiing.
