Ian MacLeod
Trainee
M.A. (Cantab.), PhD
Ian joined the firm in 2008 as a trainee Patent Attorney. He studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, specialising in Genetics. Following graduation, Ian undertook a PhD at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research.
His PhD project characterised the toxic polymerisation of mutant neuroserpin, which causes a rare dementia, through the development and utilisation of a Drosophila model of the disease. The work has been published in a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals and Ian was presented with a Young Researcher of the Year award at the 2008 International Symposium in Serpin Biology, Structure and Function.
Ian enjoys sports including fencing and snowboarding.
