Richard Newell
Trainee

MChem (Hon.)

Richard joined the firm in 2008 as a trainee patent attorney after graduating from St. Anne’s College, University of Oxford with an MChem degree in Chemistry. Richard spent his final year carrying out research in the field of organic synthesis at the Department of Chemistry. More specifically, he explored the synthesis of novel iminosugar derivatives of rare branched sugars and helped develop the use of a new protecting group in the carbohydrate field
