Jeremy Rashid
Trainee
MEng (Hons), MPhil, PhD (Engineering)
Jeremy joined the firm as a trainee Patent Attorney in 2008, having attained the MPhil and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering at St. Edmund’s College, Cambridge University. During his MPhil studies, Jeremy carried out research in the field of electronic materials and solid-state high voltage semiconductor devices, in the Electronic, Power and Energy Conversion group at the Department of Engineering, headed by Prof. Amaratunga.
Jeremy’s PhD research focused on high temperature power electronics for hybrid electric vehicle applications (findings of his research have been used in the development of the Generation III Prius). Jeremy’s PhD research also focused on renewed energy solid-state devices in single crystal diamond. Commercial interest in Jeremy’s research efforts has led to several high-profile collaborative projects with industry, including Element Six, which he headed as a Research Associate at the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics at Cambridge.
Jeremy has authored many peer-reviewed technical journal articles, has several patents to his name, and is a familiar face at several internationally renowned conferences in the field.
Jeremy is a field-deployable paramedic, and has served in the army for three years. Jeremy is also a keen traveller, an avid culinary enthusiast and mixologist, and enjoys live music.
