Experience from a practical perspective of getting our hands dirty

We have been working with OEMs in the automotive industry for over 30 years; the longevity of our relationships is down to the quality that we deliver. We service clients from Denver, USA to Niigata, Japan.

Understanding the technology is critical to managing and protecting assets in a fiercely competitive sector. Our team has the necessary blend of skills required for a 21st century automotive environment, including software specialists and mechanical engineers covering everything from driver displays to power transmission systems.

Merely understanding the technology is only a means to an end; to really appreciate the automotive industry, you have to have a passion for it.  Our team has that passion.  We have built Caterham Super 7s, refurbished a Kawasaki KH250, supercharged a GMC Yukon XL Denali, modified a California Boss Hoss V8 motorcycle, assembled countless JCB telehandlers and built a zero-emission racing bike on the frame of a Suzuki Hayabusa.

Over many years, we have faced some fascinating challenges, gained invaluable experience and achieved considerable success for our clients. Whether navigating the long road of building a portfolio of licensable patents, or going head-to-head with a competitor before the Opposition Divisions of the EPO, we thrive on taking the lead.

Effective guidance to the European patent system

We counsel a Japanese OEM company, supplying car and motorbike dashboard displays to many of the world’s largest vehicle manufacturers, through the maze of the European patent system. This continues to result in an enviable portfolio of rights and licensing opportunities.
