On 25th March, Carpmaels & Ransford held its first Diversity & Inclusion Day, a whole day dedicated to the discussion of issues relating to diversity and inclusion. Over the course of the day there were several sessions, hosted by different teams within the firm, on race & ethnicity, LGBTQ+, wellbeing and gender equality.
The sessions were open to everyone in the firm and designed to encourage individuals to share their experiences and ideas for promoting diversity and inclusion at Carpmaels & Ransford.
Camilla Balleny, Lead Partner for Diversity & Inclusion at Carpmaels & Ransford said:
"This is the first time we have hosted a discussion of this size on diversity and inclusion issues. It was a fantastic opportunity to hear from everyone in the firm on these important topics and I am sure the ideas generated will be invaluable in further developing our work on diversity and inclusion.”
The Carpmaels Diversity & Inclusion Day was the latest in a series of diversity and inclusion events hosted by the firm this year. For International Women’s Day we hosted a virtual talk with Sophie Chandauka, Global COO of Shared Services and Banking Operations at Morgan Stanley, who talked about the challenges she has faced in her career, the role men can play in supporting women in the workplace and barriers to female leadership.
During LGBT+ History Month the firm hosted a series of discussions with writer Clare Summerskill who talked about the experiences of older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people living on the margins of society.
