Carpmaels & Ransford raised over £22,500 for The National Brain Appeal , the UK charity raising funds for neurological conditions.
Many of the firm’s employees have engaged in fundraising and volunteering efforts with the charity over the last 12 months to help raise money for The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology – together known as Queen Square.
Our biggest fundraiser this year was the Thames Path Walk, which coincided with the charity’s 40-year milestone. For this event we raised the most funds, which totalled £9626.
Key stats from this included:
Hugh Goodfellow, Managing Partner at Carpmaels & Ransford and one of the Thames Path Walk team, said: “We chose this Charity of the Year for the hundreds of brilliant projects it supports, from state-of-the-art operating theatres to innovative treatment trials. Fundraising and volunteering for charities like this really does change people’s lives, and we’re very pleased to have been part of The National Brain Appeal’s journey.”
Claire Wood Hill, Chief Executive at The National Brain Appeal, said: “Thank you to the entire Carpmaels & Ransford team for their invaluable support this year. It’s wonderful to have a local company supporting our important work, and it’s clear that they feel as passionately about healthcare innovation as we do.
They had an original fundraising target of £10,000 to help transform the lives of those living with neurological conditions but, thanks to their epic efforts, they actually raised an outstanding £22,500! We couldn’t be more grateful to each and every person who took part in some way.
The company’s enthusiastic employees have got involved in a huge range of activities, from holding their own fundraising events to taking part in our 40th anniversary Thames Path trek and volunteering at our annual art fundraiser. This money will go towards a new ground-breaking neuroscience centre that is being built on Grays Inn Road in London. We are funding the creation of a pioneering stem-cell facility within the centre. Ultimately, these cells can be used to speed up the development and testing of desperately needed new treatments and therapies for patients. Breakthroughs cannot come soon enough.”
The Carpmaels Charities team has proactively organized over 12 events this year alongside the walk, which have included quizzes, bake sales and trolleys, bingo, lunches, raffles, competitions, themed parties, craft fairs and Christmas jumper days. A team from the firm also took part in the 11th year of A Letter in Mind, The National Brain Appeal’s annual art fundraiser and week long exhibition.
Shivani Patel, Major Gifts and Partnerships Officer at The National Brain Appeal, said: “On behalf of The National Brain Appeal, thank you to everyone at Carpmaels & Ransford for giving us such a warm welcome and all you have done to make this a dynamic and impactful Charity of the Year partnership.
It has been a pleasure and privilege to work with your enthusiastic charities committee who have been instrumental in the success of our partnership. As the Major Gifts and Corporate Partnerships Officer, I am so proud of what we achieved this year; I have really enjoyed meeting so many of you and hearing about your work while exploring ways we can work together. Your creative fundraising efforts over the partnership have been remarkable, and the enthusiasm of your entire organisation has made a lasting impact on our necessary mission to make brain breakthroughs, faster.”
