Carpmaels & Ransford has been recognised as being amongst the most recommended patent experts in UPC litigation in JUVE’s inaugural Patent UPC Ranking 2025

The firm was one of 37 firms mentioned in JUVE’s first ever UPC litigation ranking and the recognition further reinforces the success we have experienced in the new Court, just 18 months after it opened.

JUVE commented that Carpmaels & Ransford is “one of the few UK firms to have made a successful start at the UPC” in reference to the representation of Sanofi and Regeneron in their win against Amgen in July’s landmark UPC revocation decision. This action was the first to be lodged at the UPC on the day of its launch a year and a half ago.

Carpmaels & Ransford have been recommended for strengths in Pharma and Biotech disputes for originators, with Partners Agathe Michel-de Cazotte, Cameron Marshall and Daniel Wise receiving specific mentions for their impressive work at the UPC.

The mixed teams of patent attorneys and litigators at Carpmaels & Ransford have already devised and implemented UPC litigation and opt out strategies for many of our clients’ most important products, giving clients the ability to take a competitor off the market in all 18 UPC states in a single UPC action. We are currently actively involved in more than a dozen UPC cases.

Our mixed teams of European patent attorneys and litigators are ideally placed to advise on how best to use the UPC as over 90 of our litigators and patent attorneys have full UPC representation rights and experience in various types of UPC cases already.
