Our staff have volunteered to support a weekly Maths Booster Club

Over the past year, around 50 of our staff have volunteered to support a weekly Maths Booster Club. The project, run in conjunction with the Holborn Community Association, is designed to help Year 5 and Year 6 children gain confidence and build on the maths skills that they learn in school, before moving on to secondary school. As maths is such an important skill for all aspects of daily life, it is essential that children are given the confidence and support to develop numerical skills early on.

“Our volunteers enjoy the challenges of working with these children and finding fun ways to boost their confidence in maths. The feedback from children and parents has been excellent.”

In December, we were delighted to be presented with an Exceptional Volunteers Certificate from the Camden50 project, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the current London boroughs. Jennie Cox, Senior Associate, who manages our relationship with the Holborn Community Association, comments on the rewarding benefits for all involved above.
