Alexander Wilson
Senior Associate

Alex works in the Life Sciences team at Carpmaels & Ransford. He has extensive experience in handling all stages of patent prosecution, as well as EPO opposition and appeal proceedings, and advising on patent validity. Alex has worked on a diverse range of subject matter and particularly specialises in therapeutic antibodies, gene therapies and bioanalytical methods.
Alex graduated from the University of Oxford in 2016, having completed a Master’s degree in Biochemistry. During his time at university, Alex was awarded a Stafford Exhibition at Lincoln College, and secured a BBSRC Research Experience Placement to investigate newly discovered kinetochore proteins in the parasite responsible for causing sleeping sickness.
Alex joined the firm in 2021, shortly after having qualified as a Chartered UK and European patent attorney. In 2017, Alex received a Distinction in the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law course at Queen Mary University of London.
Outside of the office, Alex is a keen cyclist and enjoys racing his friends up and down the Surrey Hills.
