Alexander Wilson

Associate

Alex works in the Life Sciences team at Carpmaels & Ransford. He has extensive experience in global patent prosecution, freedom to operate analysis, and EPO opposition proceedings. Alex has worked on a diverse range of biochemical and biomedical subject matter, including nucleic acid sequencing methods, therapeutic products, and medical devices.

Alex graduated from the University of Oxford in 2016, having completed a Master’s degree in Biochemistry. During his time at university, Alex was awarded a Stafford Exhibition at Lincoln College, and secured a BBSRC Research Experience Placement (REP) to investigate newly discovered kinetochore proteins in the parasite responsible for causing sleeping sickness.

Alex joined the firm in 2021 as an Associate, having qualified as a Chartered UK and European patent attorney. In 2017, Alex received a Distinction in the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law course at Queen Mary University of London.

Outside of the office, Alex enjoys seeking out new ingredients to experiment with in the kitchen, as well as running, cycling and playing football.
