Angelica Kanu

Angelica joined the Chemistry team as a Technical Assistant in 2025. She graduated from The Queen’s College, Oxford with an integrated Master’s degree in Chemistry.

For her Master’s project, Angelica studied the kinetics of photoswitches and photocages using in situ LED-NMR spectroscopy. She successfully built a custom setup for real-time monitoring under controlled irradiation to extract quantum yields, rates, and mechanistic insights and was given a first-class mark for her thesis. Angelica also completed an internship at Vertex Pharmaceuticals as a medicinal chemist in the drug discovery team.

Outside of work, Angelica has a passion for weight training, cooking, and sustainable fashion, specifically clothes upcycling. She also enjoys solving online puzzles and travelling.
