Anna-Maria Poku

Anna-Maria joined Carpmaels and Ransford in September 2024. She has a range of experience within IP having worked with patents, trademarks, anti-counterfeit advisory, cybersecurity and general legal research.

She holds an LLB from the University of Nottingham and an LLM with LPC from the University of Law, where she completed her Distinction level research project in Intellectual Property looking at the current system for patents in the UK. Anna-Maria is also ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity.

Upon completing her studies, Anna-Maria joined a regional IP law firm in an IP administrative role. She then went on to work as a Trademark Paralegal and an IP and Cyber Paralegal in full service international contentious law firms.

Anna-Maria believes in the power of a good story and outside of work, enjoys literary pursuits being an avid reader and published writer. She has a book blog and reading community where she engages with like-minded readers on various books and topics, usually within the worlds of literary and contemporary fiction. She also enjoys the theatre and travelling.
