Corey Chapman

Technical Assistant

Corey joined the Life Sciences group at Carpmaels & Ransford in 2021. He studied Biochemistry at the University of Bath and graduated from Cardiff University with a distinction in his Master’s degree. As part of his Master’s degree, he conducted research into the dysregulation of S100 protein family in acute myeloid leukaemia, using lentiviral-based RNAi techniques and flow cytometry to investigate their potential as novel therapeutic targets.

As an undergraduate, Corey completed a placement year at GlaxoSmithKline, where he conducted a research project focussed on developing and optimising a high-throughput, cell imaging-based assay to assess phospholipidosis. For his final year project, Corey used extensive molecular biology techniques to investigate the mechanisms of HECT E3 ligase regulation in the cell.

Outside of the office, Corey is an avid music fan and enjoys searching for new records to add to his collection. A proud Welshman, Corey enjoys following his country in rugby and football and chaired the University of Bath Welsh Society in his final year. He is a fan of the Minnesota Vikings NFL team and likes running in his spare time.
