David joined Carpmaels & Ransford after graduating from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge with a first class BA (hons) degree and an MSci in Natural Sciences, specialising in Chemistry. For his final year research project, David investigated ribosomal incorporation of unnatural amino acids at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology.
David’s project looked into the evolution of an active orthogonal tRNA synthetase to incorporate new N-alkylated unnatural amino acids into proteins during translation. He also conducted a summer research project developing the Raman spectroscopy of a VOC sensor. During his time at Cambridge, David was awarded several scholarships from his college for outstanding examination performances.
Outside of work, David enjoys reading, running and listening to musicals. Even further from the office, he also can be found travelling, snowboarding, or partaking in watersports.
