Harry Shaw

Legal Support

Harry joined Carpmaels & Ransford as a Knowledge Paralegal in July 2025. Within the Knowledge team he works with both solicitors and attorneys in order to aid in the firm’s growing Knowledge Management strategy. Harry studied at UCL, before falling in love with IP law in his final year and going onto study a Masters in IP law. Throughout this he worked with both a legal start-up surrounding young people’s tenancy rights, as well as working as a research assistant at the University of Cambridge focusing on Human Rights and Access to Justice across Europe.

During his Masters, Harry was able to combine his love of tech and IP law, focusing on the interplay of AI and copyright law, writing on both how generative machines can impact the artistic market as well as most effective legal routes of protecting creatives at all levels within the industry. This area continues to be a focus of his interest, both at Carpmaels and in his own time. Alongside this Harry worked for UCL’s Centre for Law Economics and Society, aiding in a range of publications of reports often on large corporate mergers.
