Iliana Stamatova

Legal Support

Iliana is the most recent addition to the Transactions team. She brings with her more than two decades of versatile professional experience from across the globe, most recently in patent administration, where she has been supporting patent attorneys. She thrives on multi-party projects and document-heavy processes.

Upon completing her Legal Secretaries Diploma in 2016, Iliana joined a medium-sized intellectual property firm in London. In this role, she dealt with all aspects of the patent prosecution cycle and quickly took on full responsibility for grant formalities and national validations. She also became involved in legal research on trade secrets. Her ambition to broaden her knowledge of IP law led her to a decision to do a master’s in law, alongside her full-time patents administrator role.

Iliana completed her LLM in 2019 with distinction, having done her dissertation research on the potential widening of fiduciary liability for doctors and medical practitioners, in addition to the already existing liability in the medical research field.

In her spare time, Iliana likes to throw herself into various cultural pursuits and animal rescue missions. Art and the fauna are the essence of her missed vocation as a wildlife photographer. Nowadays, she is an avid reader, a West End theatre fan and RSPCA supporter.
