Jenny’s wide-ranging experience allows her to provide her clients with well-grounded guidance on a broad spectrum of patent issues, from the prosecution of European and UK patent applications and coordination of multinational patent portfolios to contentious matters involving European opposition proceedings and national litigation. Providing tailored advice for both large multinational companies and individual inventors, Jenny works closely with her clients to help them identify and achieve commercially valuable outcomes.

Jenny’s practice encompasses diverse fields of technology, including surgical instruments and implants, medical imaging systems, consumer products, energy storage, vehicle drivetrains, optical systems, green technology, defence systems, mechanical devices and software.

Jenny joined Carpmaels & Ransford as a trainee patent attorney. She qualified as a UK and European patent attorney in 2015, and was awarded the Gill prize for achieving the highest aggregate mark in the 2014 UK final exams.

Jenny graduated from the University of Cambridge with a first class degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Experimental and Theoretical Physics. During her studies, she was awarded several scholarships from Sidney Sussex College in recognition of her academic achievements.

Jenny then moved to Durham University for postgraduate study in the field of Particle Physics Phenomenology. Her PhD research was based around the development of software for simulating high energy particle interactions at particle colliders such as the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.

Throughout both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Jenny displayed a keen interest in community involvement and university access schemes, devoting her spare time to encouraging school children to develop an interest in science and consider higher education. As part of Carpmaels’ commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, Jenny continues aspiring to inspire children through tutoring at a maths booster club associated with a local community centre.
