Kathryn is an Associate in the Transactions team and joined Carpmaels & Ransford in 2019 from the intellectual property team of a leading international commercial law firm, where she trained and qualified. Kathryn has broad experience of dealing with commercial and intellectual property matters in both a contentious and non-contentious context and across a range of industry sectors, with a bias towards transactional work such as drafting and negotiating IP/IT focused agreements including licences, assignments, research collaboration agreements and advising on the intellectual property aspects of M&A transactions.
Kathryn has a pragmatic outlook developed from her extensive in-house experience and enjoys working with clients to understand their business and devise workable solutions. Kathryn spent six months on secondment to the in-house legal team of a leading UK technology company post-qualification, and prior to qualifying as a solicitor spent six years working in the in-house legal teams of an international architecture practice and a technology focused subsidiary of a FTSE 250 security and defence company.
Outside the office Kathryn enjoys travelling the world, trekking through national parks and mountain ranges at home and abroad, practising yoga and running.
