Maddie Dalgleish

Maddie joined Carpmaels & Ransford in September 2025 as a Technical Assistant. Before this, she graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge with an MSci in Natural Sciences, specialising in Chemistry. She sits within the firm’s Chemistry practice group.

In her Master’s year, Maddie worked within the chemical biology lab of the Sánchez group at Cambridge University. During this research project, she used a variety of synthetic biology techniques to probe the performance of the Methanosarcina barkeri pyrrolysyl-tRNA synthetase / tRNA^Pyl pair when incorporating non-canonical photosensitizer amino acids into a GFP amber mutant reporter in E. coli cells.

Outside of work, Maddie enjoys being outside and staying active, whether that be playing netball, going for a swim, or running with a friend. She enjoys watching sports and reading in her spare time and is interested in travelling the world.
