Mary Foord-Weston


Mary is a solicitor in the Dispute Resolution team with a primary focus on patent litigation.  Prior to joining Carpmaels & Ransford, Mary trained at a leading international law firm, gaining experience in contentious and non-contentious IP matters and working on High Court patent cases relating to small molecule pharmaceuticals, auto emissions catalysts and telecoms.  She also worked on a patent and regulatory benchmarking exercise in relation to a major biologic drug. Mary has a particular interest in life sciences and has co-authored articles on IP aspects of cellular oncology technologies.

Prior to her legal training, Mary obtained a BA in Human Sciences and a Distinction in an MSc in Medical Anthropology at the University of Oxford, where she focused on global health and the interplay between genetic and social factors contributing to risks of non-communicable disease.

Outside of work, Mary enjoys running and hiking, CrossFit, striving to bake the perfect croissant and crafting elaborate fancy dress costumes.
