Matthew White

Senior Associate

Matthew White is a solicitor in the Litigation team, focusing on complex technical patent litigation for clients in the life sciences sector. He has acted in disputes before the UK High Court and the Unified Patent Court, and has experience coordinating litigation strategy across parallel proceedings, including related EPO opposition proceedings.

Matthew advises clients on a broad range of life sciences patent disputes, including those concerning second medical use claims, rare disease therapies and formulations. He has acted for both innovator and biosimilar clients, with particular experience in disputes involving therapeutic antibodies across a range of indications.

Matthew also has experience advising on patent disputes outside the life sciences sector, including in the telecommunications, transport and consumer goods sectors. He advises clients across the full lifecycle of a dispute, from freedom to operate and pre-litigation strategy through to product launch and trial.

Matthew was ranked as a “Rising Star” in the IP Stars 2025 and 2026 guides by Managing IP. He is a member of AIPPI and regularly attends and contributes to other industry bodies, including YoungEPLAW.

Before joining Carpmaels & Ransford in 2026, Matthew trained, qualified and practised at an international law firm in London.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits, preferably followed by good food and wine.
