Melanie Schain

Associate

Melanie is an associate in the Dispute Resolution team with a focus on patent litigation at the UPC and German courts. She has experience of litigation before the UPC and the German courts (both first instance and appeal).

Prior to joining Carpmaels & Ransford in 2026, Melanie worked at a German intellectual property boutique law firm in Munich. She advised clients in several proceedings before the UPC and the German courts in relation to patents in various fields of technology with a focus on life sciences.

Melanie is German qualified and obtained an LLM in Intellectual Property and Data Law from Queen Mary University of London and Technical University Dresden (with distinction).
