Oliver Williams

Oliver joined the Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals teams at Carpmaels & Ransford in 2023. He graduated from St Peter’s College, Oxford with a Master’s degree in Chemistry, specialising in pharmaceutical chemistry and chemical biology.

In his Master’s research project, Oliver worked on the 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of gibberellin hormones in rice plants, investigating the effects of semidwarfing mutations in vitro and in silico. He also undertook an internship at a biotechnology startup company investigating the directed evolution of reverse transcriptase enzymes.

Outside of work, Oliver enjoys cooking and trying out restaurants around London. He is also a keen bookworm and is currently learning Dutch.
