Raoul Pischedda
Technical Assistant

Raoul joined the Life Sciences team as a Technical Assistant in 2025. He graduated with a first-class degree in Biomedical Science at King’s College London, receiving a prize for best performance in final year examinations. The degree comprised a year in industry, working at a large pharmaceutical company on cancer research. He complemented his studies with a master’s degree in Engineering for Biomedicine at Imperial College London.
His bachelor’s final year project employed biophysical techniques to characterize the interaction between essential muscle proteins, identifying binding residues through an NMR chemical shift perturbation assay. In his master’s year, he developed a convolutional neural network for autonomous risk stratification of patients through electrocardiogram traces. In industry, he worked on a CRISPR array screen to elucidate the role of various genes in regulating sensitivity to a PARP inhibitor, a cancer drug for patients with heritable mutations affecting DNA integrity.
Outside of work, Raoul enjoys playing tennis, going for park runs and picking up his guitar from time to time.
