Since March we have all had to adapt to new ways of working. We might not have been able to see each other as much in person, but we have still found ways to come together and celebrate the culture of the firm. During our festive countdown we will be celebrating some of the highlights of 2020.

23 days to go:

We watched Spring from different places this year and celebrated our Spring photography competition winner: Isobel Barry

22 days to go:

By April we were missing our work attire so we participated in a Reverse Dress-Down Day to support the Social Mobility Foundation.

21 days to go:

In the Summer we welcomed 16 students to our virtual internship programme. “The effort put in by the firm to make this happen against all odds is indicative of a firm who cares about inspiring the next generation of patent attorneys.” Alberto, internship participant 2020

18 days to go:

As our festive countdown continues, we look back to July when more than 30 Carpmaels representatives took part in the virtual Great City Race, instead of running through London we ran from our homes.

17 days to go:

We celebrated PRIDE in June and joined the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme.

16 days to go:

We found new creative hobbies and shared them with our colleagues – Creativity photography competition winner: Liz McKinley.

15 days to go:

Collectively, we walked and ran 1280 miles, the distance from our London office to our Munich office and back again.

14 days to go:

The Carpmaels Christmas Quiz raised funds for a charity local to our London office, The Olivia Hodson Cancer Fund.

11 days to go:

We celebrated Jeans for Genes Day in a different way this year and raised money by contributing the cost of a daily coffee to the cause.

10 days to go:

We marked Black History Month with a programme of thought-provoking events and strengthened our commitment to race equality by signing the Race at Work Charter.

9 days to go:

The festive countdown continues with a look back at when we took up some new hobbies including baking, biking, crafting & chicken rearing. Thanks to everyone who entered our lockdown hobby photography competition.

8 days to go:

This year we welcomed a record number students to our virtual open day.

7 days to go:

We watched autumn come and go. Autumn photography winner: Narin Hengrung.

4 days to go:

We celebrated when the C&R cycling group cycled a total of 57,000KM, which is the equivalent of 1.5 times around the Earth.

3 days to go:

We’ve continued firm traditions – every employee still receives a Christmas chicken (or nut roast).

2 days to go:

We’ve enjoyed having some time to perfect our Christmas recipes.

1 day to go:
