Carpmaels & Ransford has been announced as the UK Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year 2019 at the annual Managing Intellectual Property Awards ceremony in London. The firm was presented with the award for the third year in a row following an outstanding year for the entire team.

Particular highlights for 2018 include the recruitment of new Partner, Harvey Adams, who joined the firm in July. This addition to the Life Sciences team has cemented Carpmaels & Ransford as the stand-out choice in the UK for any “bet-the-farm” biotech or pharma case at the EPO.

Other areas of the firm have continued to thrive. The Tech team was integral to building up Spotify’s European patent portfolio following its IPO in 2018 as well as supporting a number of high profile clients at the cutting edge of robotics, digital surgery technologies, fintech and AI. The Consumer group, meanwhile, continues to deliver excellent work for the most specialised high-stakes matters in cutting edge chemistry.

In addition to prosecution, litigation practice at Carpmaels & Ransford is going from strength to strength. In 2018, Carpmaels & Ransford was representative on more litigation cases listed before the UK High Court than any other firm. The combination of patent attorneys and solicitors has proved to be a powerful offering supporting clients through the whole spectrum of IP.
