Ana Ribeiro

Technical Assistant

Ana joined Carpmaels & Ransford in 2023 as a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Engineering and Tech teams. Ana has an integrated Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in Portugal, which she obtained in 2019. During her degree, Ana completed a summer internship at the Institute for Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion, in Lisbon (Portugal), where she developed a mobile diagnostics station for ultrashort laser pulse characterization.

Following completion of her Master’s program, Ana pursued a PhD at Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. During this time, she conducted research on the optical injection of mode-locked semiconductor laser diodes and optical sampling systems, allowing her to develop an ultrafast optical sampling technique with leading scan rates.

In her free time, Ana enjoys reading and listening to music and podcasts. Additionally, her Portuguese heritage has provided her with a love for cooking and trying new foods.
