Having graduated from Imperial College London with first class honours in Chemistry, Chantal joined Carpmaels & Ransford in 2018 as a trainee patent attorney. During her degree, she spent a year in Switzerland at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where she completed her final year project in the Laboratory of Therapeutic Proteins and Peptides.
Chantal’s project looked into the development of peptide inhibitors for tissue kallikreins involved in the control of skin cell desquamation and growth. This was achieved through a combination of phage display and protein synthesis, whereby potential inhibitors were identified, synthesised, then tested in vitro to determine their binding affinities to the target kallikreins.
Outside of work, Chantal can often be found out and about on her road bike, or planning her next sailing trip. She also enjoys singing and playing the violin.
