Charlotte Malley

Charlotte is a member of the Chemistry group with a wealth of experience spanning a wide range of subject-matter from medical devices to dosage forms and combination therapies. She has particular expertise in the pharmaceutical sphere, having been involved in the successful defence of numerous patents in contentious proceedings before the European Patent Office. Charlotte is additionally experienced in the prosecution of challenging patent applications, reliably finding the best strategy to overcome complex objections and carry them through to grant. She has a detailed understanding of the considerations involved in the management of intellectual property rights, having handled numerous global patent portfolios covering approved pharmaceutical products.
Before joining Carpmaels & Ransford, Charlotte graduated from the University of Cambridge with a first class BA (hons) degree and an MSci in Natural Sciences, specialising in Chemistry. Whilst at Cambridge, Charlotte was awarded both a St Catharine’s college scholarship and a Skerne scholarship for outstanding undergraduate examination performance. She is also fluent in French, having received Distinction in an advanced scientific language course in the third year of her degree.
Outside the office, Charlotte enjoys all forms of sport, particularly football, for which she was awarded a Blue at Cambridge University, and she is often found engaging her competitive spirit on the five a side pitch or the squash court. She also enjoys travelling to practice her language skills and finding any excuse to sample food that she hasn’t cooked herself.
