Daisy Makin
Technical Assistant
Daisy joined the Engineering and Tech team in 2022, having undertaken the Carpmaels and Ransford summer internship in Summer 2021. She graduated from Somerville College, Oxford University with a Master’s degree in physics.
During her final year, Daisy specialised in in quantum information, lasers and optics, and biophysics. In addition, she undertook a project studying Anglo-Saxon rivets using optical microscopy and x-ray spectroscopy, combined with a variety of data analysis techniques, to uncover the methods used to produce the rivets, as well as information related to their subsequent decay.
Outside of the office Daisy enjoys making her own clothes, going to live music events, swimming, and reading.
