Ella Wells joined the Life Sciences team at Carpmaels & Ransford in 2020 after almost three years at a large London law firm. She holds a first class degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford, and has particular expertise in bioinformatics and digital health.
At university, Ella’s final year project was in the Computational Biochemistry group, where she used molecular modelling to investigate the strain energy in drug-like molecules when binding to their protein targets and associated changes in torsion angles within the molecules. Ella has experience prosecuting and opposing patents in a variety of technical fields, including antibody therapies and antibody discovery platforms, siRNA therapies, software, AI, and bioinformatics.
Outside of the office, Ella is most often found with a book in her hands. Ella also enjoys knitting and embroidery, and is attempting to learn to make bread.
