Hannah Brown

Associate

Since joining Carpmaels & Ransford in 2017, Hannah has built up a wealth of patent experience through her work in the Chemistry team.

Hannah handles a wide variety of subject-matter at all stages of the product lifecycle, ranging from new chemical entities, crystal forms and medical uses to medical devices and consumer products. She is currently involved in several EPO oppositions defending patents that protect marketed pharmaceuticals, and has valuable experience planning and implementing pan-European SPC filing strategies. Hannah also has experience on the other side of contentious proceedings, having been involved in opposing patents at the EPO on behalf of innovators in both the pharmaceutical and med-tech fields.

Hannah graduated from the University of Cambridge with a first class Masters degree in Natural Sciences (Chemistry), having been awarded several scholarships for her academic achievements. Her final year project was based within the atmospheric chemistry modelling group, investigating current signs of global ozone recovery, for which she was awarded the departmental prize for the highest graded physical chemistry thesis.

Outside the office, Hannah is a keen hockey player, having been awarded a Blue at Cambridge University. More recently, Hannah has taken up trail running and enjoys heading into the hills whenever time allows.
