Lawrence Paleschi

Lawrence’s work within the Engineering and Tech practice groups at Carpmaels & Ransford encompasses diverse fields of technology, including machine learning, quantum technologies, energy storage, semiconductor devices, protein sequencing, and medical diagnostics, for clients ranging from large multinational corporations to start ups and individual inventors.
Lawrence has experience at all stages of the patent lifecycle, including drafting and prosecution of patent applications, as well as defending and attacking granted patents in EPO opposition and appeal proceedings. He also has valuable experience in coordinating effective global patent prosecution strategies in collaboration with attorneys worldwide, as well as in due diligence projects, in which he has advised clients on complex freedom to operate and validity issues.
Lawrence joined Carpmaels & Ransford in 2015 after graduating from the University of Cambridge with a first class Masters degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Experimental and Theoretical Physics. During his undergraduate studies, he was awarded several scholarships from Jesus College in recognition of his academic achievements. In his final year, Lawrence specialised in condensed matter physics and microelectronics. His research project investigated the properties of Gallium Manganese Arsenide, and means of optimising the material through novel wafer designs for use in spintronic applications, including quantum computing.
In his spare time, Lawrence is a keen guitarist who also enjoys hiking, racket sports and football, and is a black belt in karate.
