Nikkie Xu

Nikkie qualified as an Australian lawyer in 2019 and joined the Carpmaels’ Dispute Resolution team in 2023.   Nikkie has particular expertise advising pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in relation to patent infringement and validity issues and patent litigation. Nikkie has also advised clients in relation to the acquisition and licensing of patent and other intellectual property rights and research and development collaborations. Prior to joining Carpmaels, Nikkie gained experience in Australia at a top-tier multinational firm working on both contentious and non-contentious matters across a range of intellectual property rights, from patent litigation in the pharmaceutical, agricultural and energy sectors to various trade mark oppositions. Nikkie has a background in biomedical sciences and was the associate to a specialist intellectual property judge at the Federal Court of Australia. Outside of work, Nikkie is an avid baker. She also enjoys the views on a long hike and spotting cute dogs at parks.
