Sam Menzies

Associate

Sam joined Carpmaels & Ransford in 2017 as a trainee patent attorney in the Life Sciences group. He graduated from the University of Bristol in 2013 with a first class degree in Biochemistry with Study in Industry. As a part of his degree, Sam worked in Pfizer’s Regenerative Medicine group where he investigated the immunogenicity of stem cells.

Sam’s PhD at the University of Cambridge used forward genetic screens in human cells to investigate a variety of cellular process, including epigenetics and viral immune evasion. His doctoral research went on to characterise genes required for cholesterol homeostasis.

Outside of the office, Sam enjoys trail running and open water swimming.
