Carpmaels & Ransford LLP is pleased to announce that Hiske Roos and Kat Langford have been promoted to Senior Associate positions, effective from 1st July 2026.

Hiske Roos is a member of the Litigation team and focuses on patent litigation, particularly in large cross-border coordination projects and before the Unified Patent Court. She is Dutch qualified and has experience acting in infringement and revocation actions before the UPC and Dutch courts and has worked on complex multi-jurisdictional disputes across Europe and the US. Hiske advises clients operating in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and technology sectors and has broad experience across validity, infringement, preliminary injunctions and confidentiality issues.
Kat Langford is a patent attorney in the Life Sciences – Biotechnology group. She has worked across a broad range of technologies, including therapeutic antibodies, vaccines and other immunotherapies, biomarkers, gene editing and viral gene therapy vectors. Kat has experience attacking and defending patents, including in multi-party proceedings at the EPO, both at first instance and on appeal. Her work includes strategic management of large global patent portfolios, and she has also been involved in UPC litigation at the UPC.
